Drones vs. Satellites

As mentioned above - There is a program now being implemented to put a fleet of unmanned drones
over selected cities to test the viability of using them to reduce crime

Both the system of drones and
The real time military satellites surveillance technology could and should be used for photo capturing
The full capabilities are still top secret BUT all our adversaries know how extensive they are
They protect our troops and soon after our troops are withdrawn from Afghanistan
they are scheduled to be phased out completely
We have hundreds of drones in use in Afghanistan
which could be reprogrammed to serve over our cities
and the satellites al;ready in space could be repositioned over the U.S.
for a fraction of the cost to build and launch new ones
the satellite picture taking system would, by far, be less expensive than the plan to launch
use the squadron of drones over the U.S.
one good thing about the recent drone disclosure to test the use of drones is
it will show the public aerial surveillance can work
we believe the fears of the paranoid
Bleeding Heart "Invasion of Privacy" aspect supporters
and those who envision a "Big Brother" society will be quelled

I have seen estimated cost for EACH drone in service to be over 3 million dollars per year PER UNIT
and that does not include the manning of the operations / data photo processing centers

Once More

The photo capturing and transmitting hardware for the many many military satellites we have in orbit is already in place
and the military already has a few data / photo processing facilities
the satellite system would just need to be adapted over for use by Law Enforcement
One satellite could cover about 1/2 the U.S.
one or two processing stations would handle all the inquiry traffic
by the various Police Departments at one time
thus saving even more taxpayers money

Lately our military has mostly depended on the drones for their surveillance
and the satellites are used very seldom

USING remote controlled aircraft / drones to find missing children women and men
IS being suggested right now by FAA and other officials
But again: they are being short sighted

One drone can cover about 10 miles by 10 miles -
it is reported they can see things as big as 3 inches
I need to repeat: Enough Drones to cover the entire U.S would require too many operators
for what one drone can do.comp[ared to one satellite
One drone's view can cover a maximum of 10 miles square
if a drone system were in place - each city would need to build and man a processing center
maintenance and operating costs would be far out of reach for most communities

The drones could cause air traffic control problems to over larger cities

The drone system would create many new jobs and that would look good for the politicians
but the real, most viable is solution is the satellites

In the 11 years since 9/11 we have lost 0ver 6,500 soldiers in our wars,
and spent trillions of dollars ( Obama has admitted it has cost us 2 billion per week in Afghanistan ALONE ) = One Trillion 900 billion

During those same 11 years over 9,000,000 Americans have been reported missing,
many of those remain missing, many have been killed.
and we have spent approximately 9.6 Billion Dollars on JUST the searches in those same 11 years.
Does it make sense that we allow those numbers to climb
when there may be a solution ?

Using Drones is NOT the solution. Too many would needed and the logistics are too complicated.

landing on the moon = JUST 23 years.
We have developed cameras in space that can see billions of miles into the universe

and moon research satellites which can see the foot prints left of the surface of the moon

The trickle down savings could be seen in Insurance costs for cars, businesses etc. etc.

Every possible alternative needs to be used to stop these atrocities
Most are not really reliable but can add to secuity

Find Missing Abducted Women Children and Men
and keep track of your loved ones
These should NOT be soley relied on to protect you or your loved ones
These could be used as additional tools to add another layer of protection but
You are betting that the person who took your loved one does NOT have the tools to detect the items

Therefor they are wasted money in our opinion

Some over zealous, under thinking, pundits, HLN TV hosts suggest placing micro chips in every person -
there are two types being suggested -
an I.D. chip with just the personal info info of the carrier on the chip
and the other one: an actual implanted GPS transmit a signal to locate OR track the person with the chip

Neither solution will work effectively to stop or find a missing person
the person who abducted your loved one WILL just takes out his metal scanner
and signal detector and find the devices

he will then either remove the item with the chip in it
( a shoe - watch band - Back Pack and discrard it )

If the chips are implanted in the person the criminal will excise it by cutting it out

The id chip could be used to IDENTIFY people just like pets ?????
A chip is implanted under a pets skin and it has
All info about the pet digitally encoded onto the chip
this is used to identify pets ONLY AFTER they are found
and AGAIN The monsters who abduct the victims will just use a metal scanner find the chip and cut it out
making ID'ing any bodies found just as difficult as if they had no Chip

Those same misdirected experts suggest unreliable solutions such as using hidden GPS cell phone tracking systems
to see where anyone is at any given time
the GPS transmitting units could be implanted or placed in watches and a variety of other items
back packs or built into shoes
Cell phones will just be thrown away
I hope you see these ideas are greatly flawed.
It assumes that the perps will NOT FIND the transmitting device,
the perps WILL find any device and then render the transponders useless or discard them
There are inexpensive scanners available to ANY one TO DETECT SIGNALS from GPS devices AND CELL PHONES
and AGAIN: the perps will use those devices to detect the units, remove, disable them
or discard them to throw police off

to rely on these devices for protection DO NOT
Tell the viewers about the drawbacks and unreliability of those "safety" devices"

Making sex offenders and other criminals wear tracking devices
has NOT worked either --- just reference the Amber Dubois / Chelsea King cases

their murderer, John Gardner wore a GPS for years and it was found afterward that during that time he wore the tracking device he violated his parole over 100 times
ANY ONE of those violations should have put him back in jail
IF they had monitored him correctly those two girls would be alive today
It is very expensive and takes far too much man power to effectively, efficiently and correctly monitor these devices and the millions who would be required to wear them

These satellites are in place right now

To plan, develop, build, launch AND maintain new satellites would cost a minimum of 30 Billion Dollars

The development and launching costs are already covered,
so the only costs I project would be to reposition the satellites
and set up, convert or adapt the processing center, which the military uses now,
to be used by Law Enforcement and those costs would be negligible,
and covered by the amount the system would save as outlined on this page

Lately our military is mostly depending on drones for their surveillance
and the satellites are used very seldom

Drones are very useful and cost effective for the Military BUT
Not for covering the entire U.S.

Most searches for the missing last less than 4 hours BUT IF $1500 PER HOUR IS SPENT ON EACH SEARCH
( and that is a very, VERY LOW FIGURE for the cost
per hour of the average search USING basic equipment and expenditures )
thus an average cost for any 4 hour search is a minimum of $6,000.00
based on the average pay for a starting, new police officer of $24.00 per hour
up to $40.00 for supervisory officers - That figure is ONLY for the manpower hours
and basic tools used for the search and DOES NOT INCLUDE ANY SOPHISTICATED EQUIPMENT

And we know there are many searches that have been going for years
and in some cases decades - The estimated cost for each of those long lasting searches
is well over $1,000,000.00 per year

Thus a combined conservative minimum of $ 9.6 Billion PER YEAR is spent on searches
for the over 2000 Americans who are reported Missing PER DAY
( that is OVER 800,000 per year )

Adapting and implementing the system
would NOT only save a great deal of that money output
BUT also free officers to address other crimes thus using their manpower to its best advantage

The amount of saving is inestimable for the other
crimes such Robbery, Car Theft, all the crimes that would be affected by lower insurance rates for consumers

By monitoring the system and
dispatching response units to the crime scenes WITHIN MINUTES of receiving the call
And guiding the responders to where the perps are IN REAL TIME
Each of us could have a little bit more security and peace of mind

The figures are based on JUST BASIC police searches with NO dogs, NO helicopters,
NO divers, NO side scanning sonar etc
Use of that equipment adds considerably to the over all cost of searches, the output for searches would be cut considerably
and those savings would help Pay for the system upkeep

Once More: IN ADDITION the money saved DOES NOT include the savings realized on insurance rates and
investigating and responding to other crimes such as
Car Thefts, Rapes, Home Invasions, Bank Robberies Hit and Run accidents = ANY Crime
It would also reduce the numbers and length of court cases and the HIGH costs associated with those
with the Perps caught IN Pictures
the criminals would have no defense and would almost certainly plead guilty IN MOST CASES

They would also think before committing their crime and it will lower the crime rate drastically

As stated above, this proposed method could also be used to protect our borders more cost efficiently and safer for the agents
AND COULD BE MADE AVAILABLE TO other countries thereby
lowering the cost even more

I repeat, A few police officers, Border Patrol Agents or Coast Guard could
do the work of
Hundreds of officers and agents in the field

and ANY CRIME SCENE where an abduction of a child, woman or man took place

The police would then JUST need to access the system and view the pics then track the perps ( backward or forward in real time )
and ARREST them and rescue the victims or solve the crime being investigated
Again WITHIN Minutes

If a body was found the archived / stored photos could be used
to see who was in the area of that scene over a period of time
and see who dumped the body - follow the suspect
to where he went and possibly where he is at the present time

If a number of bodies were found in one area, the work of a serial killer, the cases could be solved and the serial killer caught quickly after the discovery of the bodies

My question to the TV hosts who have shows which present and rely on cases of missing and other crimes for ratings and sponsor money is:
If you are really advocates for the missing,
Why don't you present to your viewers EVERY POSSIBLE solution ?

You sit in front of the cameras and cry "We MUST DO SOMETHING"
yet I have contacted 99% of the shows and hosts just begging
them to tell thier viewers about our effort and the existing satellite surveillance technology
I do not ask that they endorse it
BUT just educate their fans and allow the Public to decide if this is something they would want in place
None have responded

I have contacted most of the "experts" and pundits seen on those show and
Only one has ever bothered to respond

Contact me for her response - you will be baffled and upset when you see it

The hosts try very hard to give the impression they are advocates for the missing
IN reality all they do is report on and sensationalize the cases
They have the public convinced they are really interested in each case
BUT unless it has "Shock Value" you will not see the case on their show
The most popular one has been on since 2005
and HOW many cases have been solved because of their efforts = THE TOTAL IS = 0
Ratings and sponsors is what the hosts and channels which air them is all they care about

A good example is the case of Juran Van der Sloot who murdered a girl in Peru and
is suspected of killing Natalee Holloway, an American who was vacationing in Aruba
The host was interviewing the brother of the Peruvian victim and asked "Now that you have seen your sisters body in the Morgue, with her eyes hanging out after
the beating she received, HOW DO YOU FEEL ?" --
those are the HOSTS words
