Hello friends, thanks for being interested to know about me.

I am Barry David Butler and Live in Sebring Florida - I am 67 Years Old and WWII Baby Boomer

I’ve been a Singer Songwriter from the moment I saw the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show many moons ago,
I knew then what I wanted to do with my Life.

I was always Musical and able to make up melodies.
I started writing words to my melodies in the late 1960’s
and wrote many anti war songs during that time.

At that time I wrote all my own words and have always written all the music. I had nobody else to sing my songs
SO...I became a singer also. I have never heard any of my songs sung by anybody else.

I played and sang in bands through the 1970’s and 1980’s and that was my only job. Had a great time doing it also.
I learned a lot about the art of playing to an audience. For the past 20 years
I’ve continued to write and record. I also became a Nurse and it has helped me survive financially.
All the while I still constantly wrote songs.

I started using outside lyricists about ten years ago as well as continuing to write my own.
I currently write with lyricists from England, Australia, Bangkok, India, California, Connecticut and many others.

I wrote 16 songs in a Musical (Music Only) called “DOG SHOW THE MUSICAL”...that is currently being 'shopped around'.
It is about a Mutt that wins Best in Show at an International Dog Show....

I once wrote a Song called “THE GREATEST GIFT OF ALL”.... It is about a young girl going to term
and giving up her child to a loving couple. There is a great line in there that goes “ISN’T IT
AMAZING THAT SOMETHING SO SMALL, CAN BE THE GREATEST GIFT OF ALL”.

I got very upset one day about a year ago when I saw a family being thrown out of their house when it was
foreclosed on. The Dad lost his job and they were driving down the street with all their belongings
piled up on top of the car. The song is called “FORECLOSURE....DADDY DON’T CRY”.

Recently I was thinking how the world is really depressed and anxious. BOY.....we could all use a good hug!

I collaborated with my buddy Chet and wrote a terrific song called “EVERYBODY NEEDS A HUG TODAY”
....My buddy Roger in England and I wrote a song called “THE VISION”... It was about our vision for the world.

I read a story about a wayward Penguin washed up on a New Zealand beach.
He apparently was from Antarctica but got lost. Eventually they took him back home.
I wrote with my Friend Phyllis a song called “HAPPY FEET THE LOST PENGUIN”...

I love to write stories and to write & sing songs about them.. Simple as that!

Sincerely,

Barry David Butler
